Indoor climate with added functionality

A brand new building – Heart of the Campus – was recently constructed at Sheffield Hallam University in northern England, to add modern new facilities for education, students’ union and services.

The result was an open architecture with glass and large windows. Building contractors Harvey Group realised early on that this would place quite a demand on the indoor climate system. Having positive experiences of working with Lindab previously, they were the natural choice.
Following product adaptation and full-scale testing at the Lindab laboratory in Farum, Denmark, the eventual solution was a Multi-Service Chilled Beam for cooling, heating and ventilation, as well as seamless integration of various additional functions in the beam itself.
"The tailor-made chilled beam with integrated functionality was the ideal first-class solution for us and our client," says Ryan McLernon, Commercial Manager at Harvey Group. "With Lindab on board, we’ve been able to deliver a first-class solution in every way. The support they provided throughout the assembly process to meet tight deadlines was second to none. We are truly grateful to Lindab for always dealing with things so positively."
The delivery totalled 143 Multi-Service Chilled Beams, 100 with built-in lighting and pre-prepared for the installation of projectors, fire alarms and more at the construction site.
