Buildings of the Month – September 2012

The winner of the contest best “Building of the Month” is footwear distribution center of CCC brand located in Polkowice, built by W.P.I.P., longtime Authorized Representative of Lindab Buildings. The area of logistic hall, which is the biggest automatically operated shoes distribution centre in Central-Eastern Europe, equals more than 23.000m2. The height of the hall is 23m. Building is located in mining seismicity area which is why its construction was separated into 9 independent, rectangular parts connected by movement joints. Each part measures approximately 36 by 54m in ground floor plan. The distribution center is equipped with mini-load storing system for 5 million shoes packed in 500.000 boxes and can service 60.000 boxes per day in two shifts. W.P.I.P., main contractor, installed the biggest photovoltanic system in Poland. Solar panels are located on the south façade of the building; its height is 20m and its length is 80m.
