The 46,000 m2 roof on car accessory chain Biltema’s new distribution center equals around 7 football pitches. With the use of Lindab LPT 115 high profile as roof cladding in combination with a speedy and well-timed delivery from Lindab this proved a winning match for Kode Plåt. It consti-tutes Lindab’s largest roof delivery to date. The building’s 4.7 km long Lindab Safe air duct system, delivered by Ventilationsservice, may not be a record breaker in the same sense, but it is still a very respectable delivery.
The client for the project is Buffin Real Estate Sweden AB, who manages all of Biltema’s premises. Lindab supplied the entire ventilation system for the project and, perhaps even more impressively, the 46,000-square-metre roof incorporating Lindab’s high profile LTP 115, which is the load-bearing element of the roof struc¬ture. This is Lindab’s biggest single roof¬ing order to date.
Standing inside the cavernous warehouse one does not just see the underside of the LTP 115 panels. Emerging as a galvanized pattern stretches 4.7 kilometres of ventilation ducts, made up of six-metre lengths with a diameter of 500 mm. This part of Lindab’s supply contract was installed by Ventilationsservice, a Halmstad company that designed and specified the system using Lindab’s CADvent application. The supply air terminals were also part of Lindab’s order, consisting of a large number of LAD supply air diffusers.
