Lo-Carbon Solo Plus SELV



The Lo-Carbon Solo Plus SELV range from Vent-Axia has been specially designed for use in the splash area of a bathroom in either through the wall and ducted applications, suitable for internal bathrooms, WC’s and other small rooms. Finished in white, the Lo-Carbon Solo Plus SELV can be flush or surface mounted, with a 2-position 100mm circular spigot for rear entry or connecting to a vertical ducting system. The powerful centrifugal forward curved impeller allows installations using 100mm ducting in straight runs up to 50m, whilst still achieving 15l/s as required by Document F of the current building regulations.

The new Lo-Carbon Solo Plus SELV has an adjustable boost speed which is set at installation variable between 15-30l/s for boost/override operation to meet Building Regulations thus ensuring minimum energy usage and low sound levels. All models have an optional third speed for constant trickle ventilation (6l/s), selectable at installation. Depending on the model the fan will switch from trickle (if selected) to boost via the pullcord/light switch/humidity sensor/PIR.

Four models are available offering features such as, Pullcord, Timer, Humidistat/Timer or PIR versions. All models can be wall; panel or ceiling mounted and can be connected to either circular, rectangular or Vent-Axia’s System 25 flat ducting, which has been specially designed for concealed applications that can benefit from its ultra slim 25mm depth.

Cable entry is achieved through a rear entry grommet on the top right hand side of the unit. Enclosure of the electrical components is manufactured from flame retardant grade material.

Safety Extra Low Voltage Fan (SELV)
Designed for areas where a fan has to be fitted over or within zone 1 in a room containing a fixed bath or shower according to IEE wiring regulations (BS 7671), the Solo Plus SELV fan can be safely installed within the spray area. The fan is rated IPX7. Control is by mains safety isolating transformer unit with 24V DC SELV output, which is sited away from any source of spray and out of reach of a person using a fixed bath or shower.

The fan should be suitable for flush or surface mounting, for wall, panel and ducted applications. The fan should have a 100mm spigot with integral backdraught shutter capable of changing its orientation to receive rear entry or vertical ducting. The fan should be able to offer constant trickle ventilation boosted by various integral sensors.

The transformer should be safety isolating to BS EN 60742. The fan should be rated to IPX7. The fan performance should meet the Building Regulation (Document F) requirements of 15 litres a second for bathrooms and 6 l/s for toilets with a 15 minute timer overrun.

The transformer should be installed either surface or recess mounted using the supplied surface mounting box or a plastic two gang mounting box.


The product should incorporate a 24 volt long life ball bearing motor. The motor should be insulated to Class B and fitted with Standard Thermal Overload Protection (S.T.O.P.) and designed to operate on SELV 24V DC.
