Everything a florist could wish for can now be found at the exhibition room of Trautz GmbH & Co., KG Floristenbedarf (Germany).
For more than 80 years this third-generation family-run business has supplied its customers with a huge variety of terracotta products, decorations, homeware and tableware, seasonal goods and, above all, the best flowers and plants, directly imported from all over the world. As an additional service and to stimulate the creativity of their customers, Trautz also offers workshops and contests, such as the annual advent wreath contest.
With an area of over 2,100m², this building offers plenty of room for decorative items. To improve the lighting conditions, Trautz selected a shed-like roof with panoramic windows. Because flowers are highly sensitive to changes in temperature, a Sinutherm wall system was chosen to ensure a stable internal climate. The high humidity inside of the building, caused by the plants’ constant need for water, required a fully galvanised primary framing to protect the building and to prolong the building’s lifespan. The most remarkable element of this extraordinary retail solution is without doubt the filigree glass canopy which imitates the shape of the roof and offers protection from rain and wind.
