An air handling unit in a residential ventilation system produces up to 10 litres of condensation water per day. Therefore is it important that the condensation drainage is correctly mounted and that the air handling unit is at an angle towards the condensation flow side. From the water trap to the internal drain the installation should have an inclination of 1%.
If the air handling unit is installed in an unheated space, the condensation water drainage pipe should be insulated so that the condensation water does not freeze.
It is recommended that the water trap is mounted in a heated room to make sure that the water in the water trap does not freeze.
