DIY SOS build for the Grenfell community

We are finally able to share the news that Lindab are one of many companies to give our time, skills and materials to DIY SOS for two important projects at the site of the Grenfell fire disaster.

Through months of conception and consultations with the local community a plan was put in place to convert a 750 square metre site to create spaces for both a community centre and a new home for the Dale Youth Boxing Club.

With the aid of large construction companies, generous suppliers, volunteers and even the Duke of Cambridge, a challenging building site under a motorway has been converted to spaces worth around £2 million.

Lindab were happy to supply thousands of pounds worth of ventilation system components to the ambitious scheme including spiral duct, Eurovent certified Safe fittings, grilles, diffusers and fire rated dampers.

Many of the Lindab team from multiple branches have spent time working with the M&E designers, engineers, suppliers and installers to ensure high quality, fit-for-purpose products were supplied.

It’s been a pleasure to be involved and we are very proud of what has been achieved by the DIY SOS team taking on what is by far their biggest and longest build yet.

We hope you enjoy the programmes.
