CADvent® is an "overlay" application designed to work in conjunction with AutoDesk®'s AutoCAD® releases 2002 - 2006 software. Lindab, Inc. designed CADvent in order to simplify and integrate the various processes involved in HVAC duct design. This software application currently contains a variety of tools that automate the development of rectangular, flat oval and round duct systems, as well as perform sound, pressure and balancing calculations.

Lindab does offer a fee-based training course that provides a fast-paced, effective introduction to the CADvent application. Training courses cover the following concepts:

Day 1:
Introduction to the CADvent interface

Setting up/configuring the CADvent application

o Miscellaneous HVAC Components (dampers, silencers, etc..)
CADvent calculations
o Sound/noise attenuation

CADvent visualization features
o 2D Drawing export features
o "Autotext" features

Day 2:
CADvent Object Creation
o Creation of custom HVAC objects

· AHU from Block
· Component Template-Air Devices, Dampers, Silencers, VAV boxes
Customizing CADvent Design Functions
o Layer Template
o Text Template
o Code Marking File
