Lower carbon products

Steel is the primary material used in Lindab's products. It is durable, endlessly recyclable and non-combustible. However, steel production is responsible for around 7% of global CO₂ emissions, making it one of the most carbon-intensive industries. Cutting emissions from steel is therefore crucial, as it remains a fundamental material.

At Lindab, we can offer lower carbon products through three main categories: Lighter ducts, recycled steel and near-zero steel. Read more below:

Steel – a circular material

Steel is a key material in Lindab's products and plays an important role in the circular economy. It is durable and can be manufactured using recycled resources, making it an essential part of sustainable construction.

Key benefits of steel:

  • Has a long lifespan
  • Can be recycled again and again without loss of quality
  • Can be manufactured using recycled resources

Lindab uses European steel for its consistent high quality, as well as its climate and ethical benefits. Its carbon footprint is fully documented, and shorter transport distances compared to steel from Asia or North America result in real environmental gains.
